Welcome to our restored country gentleman’s home nestled in the quiet hamlet of Chestertown, located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of New York State.

The 1830’s house, along with its post and beam barns and surrounding meadows, has been restored by innkeepers Bruce and Suzanne Robbins. As one of the oldest structures in the Adirondack Park still in near original condition, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

We are pleased to announced that after thirty two years of hosting thousands of guests and friends at our Bed & Breakfast, The Chester Inn will now be solely available as a luxury vacation rental! The entire home, with space to entertain, enjoy and relax has accomodations for thirteen of your family and friends. For your family getaway, reunion or bridal party events, find our listing on Vacasa.com To see whats happening at our Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, Restaurant, and Boutique- follow us on Facebook and Instagram Thank You, The Robbins family.

The central location of Chestertown in the Southern Adirondacks is ideal for exploring the surrounding area during any season of the year. Enjoy the performing arts in Saratoga Springs or the Lake George Region during the summer months. Ski the Alpine trails at nearby Gore Mountain in North Creek or Whiteface in Lake Placid or ski the many Nordic cross country trails in the local vicinity. Snowmobiling is also a very popular winter activity with a well-groomed trail system right out the back door of the Inn. Hike the High Peaks or Chestertown’s own network of trails called the “Chester Challenge”. Many lakes within minutes such as Loon Lake, Brant Lake, Schroon Lake and Friends Lake are some of the most popular sites for swimming and boating. For the anglers, we have some of the finest rivers, streams and ponds in the country.
